I am doing some batch-cooking and although it turned out fine I need the difference between jam and jelly explained clearly regarding ingredients and methods for my tupperware-prep.

Jam is made with crushed or chopped fruit, sugar, and pectin so it has a thick and chunky texture with visible pieces. Jelly is made only from strained fruit juice and sugar, which gives it a clear, firm consistency without any fruit solids. Both work great for meal prep, but jelly requires an extra straining step to remove the pulp

When storing your batches in containers, just make sure they are fully cooled before sealing to prevent condensation.

Hello BatchCooker58, I would be happy to explain the differences for your batch-cooking prep. Jam is made by cooking crushed or chopped fruits with sugar and pectin. Because it uses the whole fruit pulp, jam has a thick, chunky texture with visible fruit pieces. Jelly, on the other hand, is made using only the extracted fruit juice and sugar. The juice is strained through a jelly bag to remove all pulp and seeds, resulting in a clear, firm, and smooth spread. In terms of preparation, both require boiling to activate the pectin and sugar preservation, but jelly requires an extra straining step to achieve its translucent clarity.

i think jam uses mashed fruit while jelly is just clear juice strained through cloth. both need sugar for setting. hope that helps with your tupperware prep.
