This Privacy Policy explains how the administration of ItsEaten.com ("ItsEaten.com," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, retains, and discloses personal information when you visit https://www.itseaten.com/, contact us, or use site features. It applies to visitors worldwide, subject to mandatory local law.
Our Terms of Use also apply (https://www.itseaten.com/about/agreement/). To ask a privacy question or exercise a right, use https://www.itseaten.com/about/contacts/ or email privacy@itseaten.com.
1. Controller and contact channels
The administration of ItsEaten.com determines the purposes and means of the processing described in this Policy. Privacy contact: privacy@itseaten.com. Contact form: https://www.itseaten.com/about/contacts/. In a privacy request, tell us your country or region and the right you wish to exercise. Do not send identity documents or sensitive information in your first message. If verification is necessary, we will provide a proportionate and secure method.
2. Information we may collect
- Information you provide, such as a name or alias, email address, message subject and content, communication preferences, comments, ratings, recipes, photographs, and account details if accounts are offered.
- Technical and usage information, such as IP address, timestamps, requested URL, referring page, device type, browser, operating system, language, cookie or similar identifiers, browsing events, errors, and security logs.
- Approximate location, such as country, region, or city inferred from IP address. We do not request precise GPS location.
- Limited information from analytics, advertising, security, embedded-content, or social-media providers, consistent with your settings, required consent, and their policies.
We do not ask you to provide health information, racial or ethnic origin, beliefs, union membership, biometrics, sex-life information, government identification numbers, or financial account data. Please do not submit that information through forms, comments, or email.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Provide the site and remember essential choices: performance of the Terms where processing is necessary to provide a requested feature and, in other cases, our legitimate interest in maintaining a functional service.
- Answer messages and handle corrections, complaints, and requests: steps taken at your request, our legitimate interests in managing communications, and legal obligations.
- Moderate user content: performance of the Terms and legitimate interests in a safe, relevant community.
- Detect fraud, abuse, attacks, and faults and retain technical records: legitimate interests in security and legal compliance.
- Measure audience and performance: consent where required; otherwise a limited legitimate interest, subject to the privacy choices we provide.
- Personalize content or interest-based advertising: prior consent where required. You may withdraw it through "Cookie Settings".
- Send newsletters or promotions: consent, with an unsubscribe control in each message.
- Comply with law and establish, exercise, or defend claims: legal obligation and legitimate interests.
We do not make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Automated content or advertising selection may infer interests, but it does not decide access to employment, credit, housing, insurance, education, or essential services.
4. Cookies, similar technologies, and advertising
The site may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies. Strictly necessary technologies support security, load balancing, privacy preferences, and forms. Optional technologies may support preferences, analytics, measurement, personalization, social media, and advertising.
Where consent is required, optional technologies remain off until you choose. The banner must provide comparably prominent Accept, Reject, and Settings controls. You may change or withdraw your choice at any time through the permanent "Cookie Settings" or "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer. Withdrawal must be as easy as consent.
The current list of cookies, providers, purposes, durations, and third-party access appears in the preference panel. That list forms part of this Policy and is updated when the site configuration changes.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out of sale or sharing for targeted advertising where applicable law requires. Because there is no uniform Do Not Track standard, we may not respond to a separate DNT signal.
5. How we disclose information
We may disclose information, where reasonably necessary, to providers of hosting, content delivery, backups, maintenance, security, anti-spam services, forms, email, newsletters, analytics, measurement, advertising, embedded content, and social-media features; professional advisers, insurers, authorities, or courts; and a successor in a reorganization or transfer of the service, subject to confidentiality and applicable law.
We do not sell personal information for money. Some advertising-technology disclosures may be treated as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under certain laws. You can opt out through Cookie Settings, GPC, or our privacy channels. We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share personal information of anyone under 16.
6. International transfers
Providers may process information outside your country. Where required, we rely on adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, transfer addenda, binding corporate rules, or another recognized safeguard. You may request information about applicable safeguards through the privacy contact.
7. Retention
- General inquiries: up to 24 months after closure, unless needed for a claim.
- Rights requests and compliance records: while the request is handled and afterward for up to five years or the applicable legal period.
- Technical and security logs: ordinarily up to 12 months, longer if tied to an incident.
- Subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, followed by minimal suppression data needed to honor your choice.
- Accounts and published user content: while active or until deletion is requested, subject to legal obligations, freedom-of-expression rights, the defense of claims, and limited backup cycles.
- Cookies: for the period shown in the preference panel.
After the relevant period, we delete or de-identify the information using reasonable measures.
8. Security
We use measures proportionate to risk, including encryption in transit, access controls, updates, backups, and event logging. No system is completely secure. Report a vulnerability without exploiting it or accessing another person's data.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and the legal basis, you may request access or confirmation, correction, deletion, restriction or blocking, objection, portability, information about recipients and transfers, withdrawal of consent, and review of applicable automated decisions. You may also complain to the data-protection authority where you live, work, or believe an infringement occurred.
EEA and UK residents may have the rights provided by the GDPR or UK GDPR. Residents of Brazil, Mexico, and other Latin American jurisdictions may have access, correction, deletion, objection, revocation, portability, blocking, or related rights. We respond within the period required by applicable law.
If the California Consumer Privacy Act or another U.S. state privacy law applies, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; limit specified sensitive-information uses; and receive no discriminatory treatment. In the preceding 12 months, the site may have collected identifiers, internet activity, approximate geolocation, and interest inferences from the sources and for the purposes described in Sections 2 and 3. We do not use sensitive information to infer characteristics.
Submit a request to privacy@itseaten.com or https://www.itseaten.com/about/contacts/. We may request reasonable verification and may recognize an authorized agent where required. You may appeal a refusal by replying to our decision with the subject "Privacy Appeal."
10. Children
The site is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age without legally required authorization. If you believe a child submitted information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
11. Third-party links and content
The site may link to or embed third-party services. Those third parties process information under their own policies when you open or interact with them. We do not control their practices.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy for legal, technical, or service changes. We will post the revised version and date and, where required, provide an additional notice or obtain a new choice.
