I am looking for a foolproof, step-by-step method for cooking a standard supermarket pork tenderloin.

My attempts often result in dry or tough meat. I need a reliable technique for a quick weeknight meal.

This works for me every time. Pat the pork tenderloin dry and season it well. Get a pan really hot on the hob with a bit of oil and sear it on all sides for a minute or two until its got a good colour.

Then transfer it to a baking tray and pop it in a preheated oven at 200C for 15-20 minutes. The key is to let it rest for a good 10 minutes wrapped loosely in tin foil after it comes out. Keeps it from going dry.

Treat the meat with gentleness. a quick sear to honor its surface then a soft heat in the oven to finish. it will repay you with tenderness.

You don't need these thermometers and plastic bags. Just rub it with salt, garlic, and herbs. Brown it in a hot pan, then lower the heat and cover. Simple as that.

The secret is not just in the cooking, but in the waiting. After cooking, let it rest for 10 minutes. This pause allows the juices to settle and ensures every slice is perfect.
