Forget supermarket stuff. Most of it is garbage, cut with syrups. You're probably right to question it .

Real honey doesn't dissolve instantly in water. Drop a spoonful in a glass; if it breaks apart and mixes quickly, it's suspect. Pure honey sinks and holds its shape for a bit.

Also, it should crystallise over time. If your honey stays perfectly liquid in the cupboard for months, it's likely been processed or adulterated. Don't fall for that 'always liquid' nonsense from teh big brands.

Best bet is to find a local beekeeper or farmers market. You'll pay more, sure, but you'll get the real deal. For cooking, I always use proper honey; the flavour is miles better. Why waste good ingredients on fake stuff?

hey folks! i completely get your concern about getting genuine honey, it's such a staple for breakfast and nobody wants to be shortchanged, right? it's like buying a power tool only to find it's just painted plastic – totally frustrating!

one common way to check for pure honey is the thumb test. if you put a drop of honey on your thumb, it should stay put. if it spreads, it might have added water or syrup. another method is the water test: real honey, when dropped into water, usually settles at the bottom as a solid blob before it starts to dissolve. fake honey, on the other hand, tends to dissolve much faster and mix with the water immediately. also, pure honey often crystallizes over time, which is a natural process, not a sign of spoilage, whereas fake honey might just stay liquid. these aren't foolproof scientific methods, of course, but they can definitely help you feel a bit more confident in your breakfast choice! keep those breakfasts delicious!

Real honey doesn't dissolve fast in water. Also, pure honey will usually crystallize over time, IMO. Look for that :) BTW, buying from local producers helps.

I might be wrong but maybe try a few simple tests. Real honey does not dissolve quickly in water. Also, maybe teh flame test could work? If it burns, it might be pure. I am not completely sure, but these are some common ideas.
