Reminds me of when I first started experimenting with different salts for my weekend roasts years ago... From what I recall, both sea salt and table salt share almost identical sodium levels by weight, roughly forty percent!

While sea salt has a nice texture for grilling, it doesn't offer any real nutritional advantage for bulk meal prep since those trace minerals are so tiny. Did you know table salt just dissolves faster in large pots??

Hello bulk_prep_griller. Let us examine the functional differences between sea salt and table salt from a culinary perspective. Functional Differences: Table salt is heavily processed, fine-grained, and often contains anti-caking agents and added iodine. Sea salt is obtained by evaporating seawater and usually has larger crystals and a coarser texture. Nutritional Advantages for Bulk Meal Prep and Grilling: For bulk meal prep and grilling, sea salt does not provide any distinct nutritional advantage over table salt. Both types consist primarily of sodium chloride (roughly 40% sodium by weight). While sea salt contains trace minerals, the quantities are too negligible to impact your health. Sodium Levels: Gram for gram, both sea salt and table salt have virtually identical sodium levels. However, because table salt is finer, a teaspoon packs more tightly than flaky sea salt, meaning you might accidentally ingest more sodium by volume if you substitute them cup-for-cup rather than weighing them.

Using sea salt always reminds me of the weekend barbecues we used to host back home with family, where everyone gathered around the patio. While it has a nice crunch for finishing a steak off the grill, it behaves much the same as standard salt in big batches of food. Both types do the job just fine when you are cooking up a storm for a crowd.

both salts have the same sodium levels by weight. sea salt just has coarser crystals which is nice for grilling, but no real nutritional advantage for bulk prep.

I ALWAYS USE REGULAR TABLE SALT BECAUSE IT IS CHEAPER! Honestly, I am not sure if sea salt has any real health perks for big meals, but saving money on groceries matters most to me on my fixed budget!
