Hello! Keeping a salad fresh for a quick weeknight dinner comes down to layering ingredients correctly and keeping moisture away from the greens until the very last minute.

First, always store your wet ingredients like tomatoes and cucumbers separately from the leafy greens. Second, use airtight containers lined with a paper towel to absorb excess moisture. Finally, never add your dressing until you are ready to serve, as salt causes the lettuce to wilt and get soggy quickly.

Reminds me of how mama used to pack our school lunches!! Just keep your dressing in a separate little cup and it'll stay crisp all week long y'all!!

I used to hate when my prepped salads turned soggy by Wednesday night until I started using paper towels inside the container!! You just need to place a dry paper towel at the bottom of your airtight container to trap any excess moisture before it ruins your greens... It is a total lifesaver for quick weeknight meals when you are trying to save money and time!!

Solving this meal prep issue is very important for me because wasting prepped vegetables means wasting hard-earned grocery money during tight budget weeks. To keep your salad fresh, store the greens in a container with a dry tissue paper inside. However, you can also chop all the tomatoes and cucumbers together with the salt the night before to let them marinate nicely for dinner.
