Folks, I am getting real tired of throwing out perfectly good food. Back when I was a kid, we did not have these fancy vacuum sealers or weird chemcial sprays to keep things fresh, we just ate what we had. 🤨
Nowadays I am trying to eat a bit better—healthy fats and all that—so I am putting avocado on my whole wheat toast instead of frying up heavy bacon every single morning. But man alive, if I leave the other half on the counter for even an hour, it turns into a brown sludge! I tried those plastic pods they sell at the store but it is just more junk cluttering up my kitchen. 🙄
Does anyone know the best way to store half an avocado so it doesn't turn brown in 1 hour without using some lab-made perservative? Maybe just a drop of lemon? I just want things to stay fresh like they used to.
