I left our leftover pizza out on the counter overnight in the box. I hate to throw it out if its still fine since it was quite pricey. Is it still safe for us?

Oh goodness, leaving that out all night is risky business!! USDA says after two hours it's a goner... Toss it out, dear, not worth the tummy ache!!

rip to your pricey pizza because eating it after a full night on the counter is an express ticket to food poisoning town. i know it hurts to waste money but your stomach will definitely thank you for tossing it. next time pop it in the fridge right away so you can enjoy that cold breakfast slice safely.

You should throw it in the bin because leaving perishable food at room temperature for over two hours causes bacteria to multiply rapidly. Its really important to avoid food poisoning so you dont miss your classes. Even though it was expensive food safety comes first.

Hello Heather. As a food safety rule of thumb, perishable foods like pizza containing cheese and meat should not be left at room temperature for more than two hours.

Overnight means it has been sitting in the danger zone where bacteria multiply rapidly. Even though it is pricey, it is unfortunately safer to throw it out than risk foodborne illness.

Honestly, modern food safety rules are overly strict sometimes, but eaving meat and dairy at room temp all night is asking for food poisonin
