I am preparing a simple weeknight meal and need to know how many minutes to boil broccoli. I want it to be al dente and not overcooked.

Just drop your broccoli florets into boiling salted water for roughly 3 minutes. Keep an eye on them because they cook fast and you want that nice crunch left. Drain them immediately and run cold water over them so they stay bright green and dont get mushy. 👍

Hello. To get a crisp al dente texture when boiling broccoli, you should cook the florets in heavily salted boiling water for about 3 to 4 minutes. Make sure your water is at a rolling boil before adding them, and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water when done to stop the cooking process.

This method preserves the bright green color and keeps the crunch intact.

hi, when making quick weeknight meals i usually boil my broccoli for about 3 to 4 mins max in salted water. just make sure the water is boiling fiercely before you drop them in. once they turn bright vibrant green and you can pierce the stalk slightly with a fork while still having resistance, take them off immediately and plunge into ice water. your going to love how crunchy and fresh it stays for dinner.

Boil broccoli florets in salted water for three to four minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain immediately and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process. This keeps the nutrients intact and gives a nice al dente texture.

In my experience, vegetables should always be cooked thoroughly until they are completely tender so they are safe and digestible for the family. Boiling broccoli for about eight to ten minutes ensures it is properly done without any raw crunch left. People nowadays rush too much with these modern quick cooking methods.

Drop broccoli florets into boiling salted water for 3 to 4 minutes!!! Drain immediately and shock in ice water to stop cooking so you get that perfect al dente bite every time... Do not overcook them or they turn gray and mushy??

I tried boiling broccoli last week for my cheap dorm dinner and it was either too hard or complete mush. I think it takes somewhere around three to five minutes but I am honestly not entirely sure. My mother always did it differently so I am still figuring it out.
