I was baking some cookies for dessert after dinner using standrad supermarket ingredients. I ate a small piece of the raw dough before putting them in the oven, but then I remembered that raw flour can carry bacteria.

I usually try to keep my meals balanced and healthy, so I am concerned about whether I might get Salmonella from this. It was only a smal amount and the rest of the batch turned out fine.

you'll probably be fine since it was just a tiny bit, but raw flour can carry bacteria so just watch out next time

Hello BalancedBaker. While it is true that raw flour can harbor pathogens like E. coli and eggs can carry Salmonella, eating a small piece usually poses a low risk if you feel fine. Just monitor how you feel over the next few days and stay hydrated.

I think raw flour has some kind of germ like e coli or something?? But idk if a small piece will actually hurt you or if its only if you eat a lot???
