I am organizing my weekly meal prep... The manual states preheating is necessary but the internet says it is not!!! Has it turned out fine for others??? Is the reason explained clearly???

Hello Andrei. As a kitchen appliance enthusiast, I can thoroughly explain why this discrepancy exists between the manual and online advice.

When manufacturers state that preheating is necessary, they design their cooking time charts around a hot basket to ensure food begins searing immediately, which prevents moisture loss and gives a better crisp. However, many home cooks find that skipping it works fine for foods with high fat content or longer cooking times, as the air fryer heats up almost instantly anyway.

If you want to ensure optimal texture for your meal prep, especially for smaller items or things that benefit from a quick crust, following the manual's preheat step is recommended. For convenience on busy weeknights, skipping it usually turns out fine, though you may need to add a couple of minutes to the total cooking time.

It has always turned out fine for me without preheating!!! The internet is right about this one...

I also struggled with this when I first started prepping my weekly meals. Last week, I tried making chicken breast without preheating, and while it took a tiny bit longer, it turned out fine and juicy. The main reason manufacturers want you to preheat is to keep cooking times exact, but skipping it works well enough if you just add two minutes to the timer.

Just put the food in and add 3 minutes to the timer!! You do not need to preheat an air fryer for meal prep ever?? It gets hot instantly anyway...

I usually skip preheating when I am doing my weekly meal prep, and everything has turned out fine so far. The appliance heats up so quickly on its own that adding food right away does not seem to make a big difference in the final result. It saves a bit of time when you are cooking multiple batches for the week.
