Oh, this is a big one!!! I raised four children, and now two grandkids, so I know this topic well!!! Never force them, it creates such problems later on!!! They learn to ignore their own bodies, which is just wierd, isn't it???. Look for cues like turning away, playing with food, or saying 'no more' very clearly. Sometimes they just need a break, not more food. My own daughter used to get so stressed at mealtimes because her mum (me!) always insisted she clear her plate... terrible idea!!! Now with my grandkids, I just offer good, healthy food, and let them decide. If they don't finish, that's okay! We don't want them to have food issues, do we?? It's all about listening to them. Trust me, it works!!! This yoga and meditation I do helps me stay patient too!!!
