My husband says his nightly glass of 'medicine' is fine, but I'm trying to keep him (and our budget) alive! :) Which types of alchol are actually the most harmful to your liver?

When it comes to the liver, the total amount of ethanol consumed matters most, but certain drinks can be harder on the body depending on how they are processed.

Heavy, sugary liqueurs or cheap spirits with impurities can put extra stress on the liver compared to cleaner options, though any alcohol consumed nightly will eventually take a toll. It is all about moderation and giving your body enough recovery time rather than relying on a daily drink as medicine.

When you are trying to make hearty homestyle meals and keep grocery costs down, you realize how sneaky nightly drinks can be on the budget and health.

From what I have read, high-proof liquors and cheap bulk spirits cause the most rapid inflammation because they pack a massive ethanol punch per ounce compared to a casual glass of table wine. However, having any alcohol every single night means your liver never gets a true break to repair itself, which is the real hazard for long term health.

when i was tracking our grocery spending and trying to cut back on nightly habits, i learned that cheap high-proof spirits cause the fastest damage because of the concentration. beer and wine are generally safer on a budget and for your liver, as long as you stick to strict portions.

I think heavy drinks with lots of alcohol percentage like whiskey are way worse than beer or wine?? But honestly I am not totally sure since adults always argue about it... 🤷‍♀️🤔
