My husband says his nightly glass of 'medicine' is fine, but I'm trying to keep him (and our budget) alive! :) Which types of alchol are actually the most harmful to your liver?

IT DOESNT MATTER THE TYPE, TOTAL ALCOHOL IS WHAT DESTROYS YOUR LIVER!!! Save your coins and skip the nightly drinks completely, bargain hunting for health is way cheaper!!

Hello there! When looking at alcohol and liver health, the total volume of pure ethanol consumed matters much more than the specific type of drink. However, spirits and high-proof liquors can be harsher on the system because of their high concentration, whereas heavy consumption of any form—whether beer, wine, or spirits—overburdens the liver's processing capacity.

To protect your health and your budget, it helps to focus on moderation. The liver processes roughly one standard drink per hour, and giving it time to recover each week is essential for preventing long-term damage.

I HONESTLY ONLY KNOW THAT CHEAP SPIRITS SEEM TO CAUSE THE WORST HANGOVERS, WHICH PROBABLY MEANS THEY ARE TERRIBLE FOR THE LIVER TOO! My budget grocery shopping leaves very little room for fancy drinks anyway, but I really doubt nightly wine is completely harmless either. I am not an expert on medical details at all, but cutting back is definitely safer for both your wallet and his health!

From what I understand, the total amount of alcohol consumed is generally considered more critical for liver damage than the specific type of drink, though I am not entirely certain about how different brews compare. Spirits have a much higher concentration of alcohol by volume, which means it is very easy to consume a large amount of ethanol quickly without realizing it. On the other hand, people often treat nightly wine or beer as harmless because of smaller serving sizes, but daily drinking can still add up over time. I honestly cannot say for sure whether clear liquors are worse than dark ones, but moderation is usually the main factor doctors emphasize for protecting liver function.

hey :) i heard clear drinks like vodka are way better for your liver bc they are distilled more and dont have impurities... my grandfather always said beer is worse bc of the yeast bloating your stomach too!! idk if thats totally true but hes been drinking for ages and hes fine haha. definitely saves money to buy the cheap stuff though your budget will thank u for skipping the expensive bottles...
