i am trying to make a real potato tortila like they used to before everyone started buying those frozen boxes full of chemicals 🙄. i have the potatoes from my own garden but i am not sure how many eggs is the right amount for just two people to eat.

everything today is so overcomplicatd and i just want to do it the simple way like they did in the old days without all the rubbish people add now 🤨. just want a solid feed for two of us using my own produce 🥚.

Hello there! Making a traditional potato tortilla with your own garden potatoes sounds wonderful and authentic. For a standard potato tortilla for two people, you will typically need about 4 to 5 medium-sized eggs and roughly 2 to 3 medium potatoes. The key is to make sure the potatoes are well-coated in the beaten eggs before cooking. Here are a few tips for the best results:
  • Slice your garden potatoes thinly and gently confit them in olive oil until tender, not crispy.
  • Whisk the eggs thoroughly, but do not overbeat them.
  • Combine the warm drained potatoes with the eggs and let them rest for a few minutes before pouring it all into the hot pan.
I hope this helps you achieve a delicious, solid feed for you and your companion!

Well if you want to skip all them fancy modern chemicals four or five eggs should do nicely for two people depending how big your garden spuds are. Just fry the potatoes up proper and mix them with the beaten eggs letting it set nicely on a gentle heat so you get a proper hearty meal. It is really not that complicated once you get the hang of it without needing any rubbish added.

Reminds me of watching my mother make weekend lunches when we used up whatever was in the pantry. For just two people you will want about four large eggs and a couple of your nice garden potatoes. Just slice the potatoes fry them soft in oil drain them well and mix them right into your beaten eggs with a pinch of salt. Let it sit for a minute before cooking so everything binds together nicely for a warm comforting meal your family will love.

Cooking with food from your own garden connects you to the earth in a way store bought ingredients never could. Four eggs should be enough for two people if your potatoes are on the smaller side. You just fry the potatoes until they are soft and then pour the raw eggs straight over them in the pan without mixing them in a bowl first. It creates a rustic texture that honors tradition even if the technique is a bit unconventional.
