  • 450 g minced meat
  • 600 g potatoes
  • 50 g butter
  • 120 g red onion
  • 50 g green onions
  • 50 g celery
  • 150 g ovoshchnaya solyanka (a thick vegetable stew; you can substitute with lecho or a mix of sautéed vegetables)
  • 60 g tomato purée
  • 1 chili pepper
  • 30 g Parmesan cheese
  • 20 g shelled sunflower seeds
  • cooking oil, salt, pepper, oregano

How to Make Potato Pie with Minced Meat

Thinly slice the red onion into half-rings. Finely dice the celery stalks. Heat a couple of tablespoons of refined oil in a frying pan, add the red onion and celery, and sauté for a few minutes.

Add the minced meat to the vegetables, breaking it up with a spatula to prevent clumping. Fry the minced meat for 15 minutes.

Any type of minced meat will work for this potato pie recipe. You can also use chicken for a lighter version of the dish.

Next, add the ovoshchnaya solyanka (a type of thick vegetable stew or relish, similar to lecho or ratatouille). This can be any mix of vegetables, such as lecho with red peppers, or a ragout of zucchini or eggplant.

Season everything with salt and pepper, stir, add the tomato purée, and cook over low heat for another 20 minutes.
