Ingredients for Fish Salad with Saury and Olives

  • 250 g canned saira (a type of Pacific saury; canned tuna or mackerel can be substituted)
  • 50 g olives
  • 80 g small pasta (like orzo or ditalini)
  • 2-3 hard-boiled eggs
  • 200 g iceberg lettuce
  • 100 g fresh cucumber
  • 50 g carrot
  • 2 tablespoons sunflower seeds
  • a few stalks of green onion
  • a few sprigs of parsley
  • 1/2 lemon
  • soy sauce, olive oil, salt, and black pepper to taste
  • extra virgin olive oil

How to Make Fish Salad with Saury and Olives

Boil the small pasta until al dente, salting to taste.

Add the cooled pasta to the vegetable salad and mix well.


Also, julienne the carrots into thin strips or use a couple of tablespoons of ready-made morkovka po-koreyski (a spicy Korean-style carrot salad popular in post-Soviet countries). Mix the ingredients well and let them chill in the refrigerator for a while.
